About Catholic artists Gallery.
Catholic artists exhibit your art in this gallery.
this is a Catholic artists gallery.
In this gallery you may post:
but put more then your Church images in. put your Art works not Catholic Icons. but if that is what you make then it will be fine. Im looking for more from us. on art work.
any kind of art. photography, digital art, computer graphics, Abstracts, painting, drawings, crayon, sculpture, glass, mixed media, etc. If you did the art. then put it in this gallery.
try to do art not snap shots we wont your best arts in here.
if you are not a Catholic we would love for you to look at what is going on in here. you may be a part of discussions. but then look in to RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) classes to be come a Catholic. then post your art images in here. the POOL of Images is just for the Catholics in this group. I will just have to trust you on this part. I hope you first would do it to please JESUS. not your need to do art or show art thanks.
We would like a short artist's statement on your self and a little on how your art is part of your Faith. a photo of you if you are willing. not a must have.
Catholic kids are welcome. if they wont to grow in faith and get better at art.
help us get some new Catholic artists on board, Invite any Catholic that makes art. even if you know them out side of the Flickr. get them here to be a part of this outreach of Catholic Artists at Flickr.
I'd like to suggest that you make a big effort to comment on our fellow members images. you like comments on your photos right? Well so does pretty much everyone else. I think communication should be a big part of this kind of group and comments are a basic part of that. but more then one word comments. give constructive up lifting critiques of there works. We all would like to grow from being here, so be kind and thoughtful in your words. help any one that can relate to you or you enjoy. don't put down any ones work. we all see art in a diferont vision from each other. in some groups they give out Awards. we wont in this one. I feel it limits how much we talk to each other.
May this also be a place to freely discuss:
art issues, being a Catholic, apologetics, problems, or concerns when dealing with your art and faith. to ask people to pray for some thing or pray for some one els. We should discuss also the joys and advantages of our lives. Above all, have fun together. find new ways to SEE JESUS working in are life's and Art. to be come better at living the life we are given.
No nudity please. Kids are a part of this group. You can put that some place else, but not in here. Thank you.
My administration job here is to hopefully not to be a policeman. I hope it would be to inspire you in your art. but if you see a image that you wont out let me know. I feel that we should first seek forgiveness and love. if some one is being very out of control. then yes I will pray first for them then kindly ask them to go. I have a life out side of Flickr and so do you.
Now do show off your ART ......................................or make new art.

The word "Catholic"
"(Greek: katholikos, universal)
The term, in its primitive and non-ecclesiastical sense of universal, occurs in the Greek classics, and was freely used by the earlier Christian writers. The combination, "the Catholic Church," is found for the first time in the Letter of Saint Ignatius to the Smyrneans, written about the year 110. The words run:
"Wheresoever the bishop shall appear, there let the people be, even as where Jesus may be, there is the universal (catholic) Church."
The term continues to be found with ever-increasing frequency, in its technical sense, from this time forward; until by the 3rd century it was the commonly accepted formal title of the true Church, in contradistinction to all heretical or schismatic groups."

who was Saint Ignatius:
"If we include St. Peter, Ignatius was the third Bishop of Antioch and the immediate successor of Evodius (Eusebius, "Hist. Eccl.", II, iii, 22). Theodoret ("Dial. Immutab.", I, iv, 33a, Paris, 1642) is the authority for the statement that St. Peter appointed Ignatius to the See of Antioch. St. John Chrysostom lays special emphasis on the honor conferred upon the martyr in receiving his episcopal consecration at the hands of the Apostles themselves ("Hom. in St. Ig.", IV. 587). Natalis Alexander quotes Theodoret to the same effect (III, xii, art. xvi, p. 53)."
from a lower in the page.
"The martyred Bishop of Antioch constitutes a most important link between the Apostles and the Fathers of the early Church. Receiving from the Apostles themselves, whose auditor he was, not only the substance of revelation, but also their own inspired interpretation of it; dwelling, as it were, at the very fountain-head of Gospel truth, his testimony must necessarily carry with it the greatest weight and demand the most serious consideration."

1 Timothy 3:15
"15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
EPHESIANS 1: 21-23
"21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all."
to what dose this power get given to. it is the Catholic Church.
