About Global Flickr Cat Directory

Another cat group?!
This is a spur-of-the-moment group creation. I have never created a group before, and I certainly have never thought there weren't even Flickr cat groups! However, I haven't yet found a group that can serve as a listing of all the cats whose photographs are posted on Flickr. (I could be wrong, and if I am, just tell me about that group, and maybe I'll just shut this one down). The idea is to have just one post per cat. You can spend all day trying to find just the right picture to post, or you can spend a minute to get your cat listed. In the description, you can link to any albums you want to get viewers to see much more of your cat, and, of course, they'll probably find those photos just by clicking on your account link.

Rules
1. You will only be able to post five photos per month. The limit is so low to prevent accidental or purposeful overposting. Theoretically, you only need to post one photo ever. If you want to change your cat's photo, you can remove the current group photo and add a different one (staying within the monthly limit); or you can replace the photo within your pool with another (although that will delete the old photo from Flickr entirely). The limit is five rather than one so that you can post for up to five cats initially if you want.
2. The cats you post need not be your own, as long as someone else hasn't posted one of them already.
3. The cats you post need not be living. In fact, the passing of the cat featured in our very first posting inspired the creation of this group.
4. If an admin notices multiple pictures of the same cat, the most recently posted will be removed from the pool.
5. Geo-tag the photo you submit to the pool. This is not a mandatory rule, as some Flickr users do not want to divulge personal information. However, even if you just geo-tag the photo with your town or your state or your country, it will be quite useful.

Ideally, the group could function as a community to find others in your physical community ask questions regarding locally relevant issues, such as where to find a good vet or catsitter, in addition to being a global community of cat-owners.
