This group is for anyone who wants to post images captured at Canyon De Chelly National Monument, located in NE Arizona. This site is not a flood site. You are allowed to post up to three images per day, but you MUST critique the three images posted just before yours. Post your images first, then critique in detail the three images before yours. If you post and do not critique as described above, I will remove your images.

This group is for your BEST work in this particular region. Please do not post "just snap shots." I want to maintain and grow group standards, but more so skill...including mine. I will remove any image that does not meet group standards.

GROUP STANDARDS:

Each image should reflect the natural beauty of the National Monument while respecting the people who live there. Each image should show something unique about that region. Each image should be technically and compositionally proficient. I will be the final judge of those qualities. Think QUALITY when you post here!

SCORING:

Scoring shall be based on the following criteria:

Technical: Composition: Eye Appeal: Commercial Viability:

Scoring Definitions:

Technical means: is the image in proper focus. Is DOF correct? Are white balance and ISO correct? Is exposure correct?

Composition: Is the image framed well? Is the horizon straight or does it support the composition as a whole. Is the focal point clear and well communicated in this image? Are there distractions?

Eye Appeal: simple! Do ya like it?

Commercial Viability: This can mean many things. Your rule of thumb may be different than mine. The quickest way to discern this issue is would you pay money to put that image on your wall in your home or office. Also, I look at the issue of would there be an art buyer or a stock agency that would take this image into consideration and use.
