About Canon Super Telephoto Prime

This group is for photographs taken with the Canon EF super telephoto lenses.

For the purpose of the group, "Canon super telephoto" is defined as a Canon EF telephoto prime lens with a focal length of 300mm or greater.

The following lenses are supported:

Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 300mm f/4L USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L II USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS USM (current)
Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM (current)
Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 500mm f/4.5L USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 600mm f/4L USM (discontinued)
Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM (current)
Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6L USM (discontinued)

Photos taken using tele-converters on these lenses are welcome, and discussion about these fine lenses is also encouraged.

If a lens is not listed above, this group does not cater for it.

Please note that that the following lenses are not super telephoto lenses:

No "for sale" (FS) "wanted to buy" (WTB) posts or advertisements for other groups.

This is a moderated group; all submitted images are reviewed before being released into the pool. If an image was not captured with one of the lenses supported by this group, it will not be accepted into the pool.

Note that participants need to have the display of EXIF data enabled. Images without adequate EXIF data will be rejected.
