WEEKEND CHALLENGE OOC #35 A Sporting Event Action Shot WINNER ANNOUNCED

view profile

robmat26 says:

A Sporting Event Action Shot ---- WINNER ANNOUNCED
Can be a major event away from your home or something going on inside or outside your own home. The sport can be as slow as a chess game or as fast as an auto race or a ping pong game.

If you haven't participated in a challenge before, do it now. Camera science helps, but use your native intelligence and shoot something that is interesting to you. If it doesn't look good shoot it again - and again - and again. Change the lighting or one of the settings on your camera and see if the picture is better or worse. If it's worse, change the setting the other way. Experiment! Hey digital pictures are free. Go for it.

This challenge is limited to shots that have had absolutely no post processing, including cropping, brightness, color correction, etc. All tools used before or during picture taking are allowed, including off camera flash, filters, and lens adapters. (There is a similar challenge going for shots that have had post processing)

NOTE: Adding a watermark is the only permitted processing because it does not alter the quality of the picture.

How do you enter?

- Entries are open from Friday 0600hrs GMT - Tuesday 0600hrs GMT

- Everyone is allowed to submit 1 photo - you should post your photo in "SMALL" size.

- Photos must be taken only with Canon Powershot S5 IS.

- Entries must be shot within the last 30 days.

- Please number your photos. (If your photo is the 8th photo on this thread, then your number is #8). *Please keep an eye out for the numbering, and if a number is repeated, please use the correct number and the moderators can fix the incorrect ones.*

- Hosts cannot enter their own challenge. This doesn't stop you posting a photo, just do it after entries close and so that people don't vote on it.

How do you vote?

- Voting is open from Tuesday 0600hrs GMT - Thursday 0600hrs GMT

- When voting, please post the numbers of the 2 photos you like most, in order of preference, (say, if you like 4th and 5th photos, post '#4' and '#5'). Don't vote for your own photo. In the case of a tie, your top vote of the two will count more, so list your favorite first.

What if you Win ?

- The photo with the most votes wins. The host will add these up and let everyone know the result.

-Please only use non-comparative favorable comments in the voting thread. Other constructive criticism is best done elsewhere.

- In the case of equal votes, a "count back" based on the most first preferences will be used to decide.

- If you win, please tag your winning picture as "Canon S5 Theme Winner", and add your photo to the "HALL OF FAME - OOC Weekend Challenge Winners..." thread.

- The person whose photo wins, hosts the next weekend challenge. Host means, pick a theme, start the challenge, count the votes when posting is over and announce the winner - and all these on time!

*** Hosts - please remember to give a topic that can be shot anywhere, even at home. As an extreme example, no icebergs or volcanoes!!!

So, just for clarification, this could just be recreational "sport" such a throwing the frisbee around, riding a bicycle, playing croquet, fishing etc. Right?

Anything going on that can be shown with some action is ok. Doesn't have to be a big league ball game. Show us your activities or your kids at play.

No entry for me this week. :( I didn't get out to view any sports and none came my way. Sometimes bike races go by my house on the weekend but no luck there.
