Canon EOS 60D - View this group's most interesting photos on Flickriver

As expected the Canon EOS 60D actually got announced on 2010-08-26. Compared to the 50D it has a strange mix of new or improved features and omissions or downgrades. The 60Dshares with the other 18 MP Canon cameras a slightly improved image quality when compared with all older Canon APS-c crop cameras. Unfortunately Canon did not yet fix the performance problems of its camera electronics. So the deep shadows of Canon DSLR images still have a lot more noise than necessary even at ISO 100.
A blackframe image shows the noise without the distraction that a real image would provide:

Thanks to state of the art Sony Sensor and camera electronics the Nikon records a much less noisy black than the Canon DSLR.
