I found this guy while hiking. I used a flash and stopped down the aperture, then i focused as close as possible manually and moved the camera until it was focused. I think i stunned him with a couple flash pops and then got in close.

@AdrianHa: Go to the photo that you want to show here, click on the "All sizes"-button above the image, choose "Small" or "Medium" and select all of the html code under the image, then copy & paste it here.

I'm not sure that it's the BEST shot I've taken with this lens, but it's a recent one (taken yesterday), and I've just joined this group, so I'll post it anyway. :-)

Ouch! Is it too big to post here??

My favourite so far, because it was very impromtu, and I wouldn't normally use the 60 for this shot - but it was up to the task. Studio lighting (cold, florescent) from another project, hastily dropped to the floor; the bokeh of this lens makes something kinda fugly - cardboard boxes in the background - add texture to the image. The intensity in the eyes. And all fast movement going on here. She just dropped the cup on its side after having a licking marathon on it. This was literally a millisecond in time.

This lens is so much fun to use -- I think my favorite shot so far is this one:

Natural light, hand-held, fighting an intermittent breeze (which, apart from thwarting my macro efforts, was really quite welcome, as the temperature was creeping toward 90 ;)

Took some photos with this lens at a concert in The Hague, the Netherlands and was amazed by the sharpness and lack of noise of the pictures, taken in such low light conditions.

I got desperate to take a pretty picture, so I bundled up and went out on a 12 degree afternoon (I think you can see the frostiness in the air!). Nothing special was involved as far as technique; my macro lens helped me notice these woody buds. I didn't know they were there until this little discovery.

I only got the lens recently and have had very little chance to use it, but I did take this one with it straight out of the box, at high ISO, maximum aperture, and a very slow shutter speed. I liked the result.

I love this lens for macro - but it's great for portraits too.
Natural light is best, but where I live, you get a lot of days with dull light and slight wind, which makes outdoor macros very difficult.
I used the 60mm with the EX14II extension tube attached, manual focus set to minimum, and moved the camera in and out to focus just right. It takes lots of shots to get the one!
Shot in RAW, post- processed through Noise Ninja, and some level setting in gimp.

Set Tv mode time to 1/100s (cause it was handheld), Focus Servo and let my Canon 450D shoot as long and as fast as it could. Got 93 pics (then the wasp flew away); and this is a crop of one of the 5 that could be used.

Though its nowhere near as good as most of the pics on here, i am fairl new to this and if you zoom in it does show the lens' capabilities this cricket is really loaded with some sort of mite or parasite. I haven't taken my best shot with it yet but will keep on trying

Wow, almost all macros! I rarely use it for macros since I have my 100mm for that. BUTTTTT, what it does do VERY well on my crop body is portrait photography!

It is my most used lens for portrait photography in general.
