I wanted to start this group because it seems the current candid or street photography groups were either too restricting or centered too much on critique. While critique is certainly welcome and encouraged, I want this to be something fun. I'm encouraging members to get out to a park, local event, hot spot, or wherever and capture people in their every day lives. The trick is to make sure the subject(s) do not know you're photographing them. Get outside, shoot, and have fun!

About Candid Captures

A group for amateur, advanced, and pro photographers who either specialize in candid or street photography or happen to dabble in it once in awhile. If you're just learning, come on in and share it. If you're advanced or pro, be willing to offer your critiques while also sharing your expertise through your work.

My goal is for people to have fun and be in an environment where rules are minimal and creativity is encouraged. If you're not sure if something is candid, don't be afraid to ask!

When you sit down to watch people, the shots you can capture can be truly amazing and I want to see members capture that in every day life.
