WE HAVE A WINNER!

After a much deliberation the judges have chosen a winner and 3 runners up. It was such a difficult decision with so many lovely dogs to choose from; we had 905 entries by the closing date.

The winner's photo is titled 'Jasper on the Avon Ring', Jasper is a lovely Welsh Springer Spaniel and the judges thought the photo was bright and well composed and Jasper looked happy and alert.

The judges also chose 3 very worthy runners up and these photos were titled:

Paddy - Canal 18
baker in the ring

Congratulations to our winners and each one will receive a doggy bag of goodies. We would like to thank everyone for sharing their fantastic doggie photos and entering the competition.

Whilst the competition has now closed the site will remain open so please feel free to continue to share your favourite waterside doggie photos.

Here at British Waterways we know that our canals and rivers are popular places to take your dog for a walk and so we’ve set up a new flickr group to allow dog owners and walkers to share pictures of their pets taken by the water.

This page group isn’t just for fun though. We’re on a very serious mission to find the new face of our marketing campaign and we’re hoping it’s going to have a wet nose. We want to see your canine looking its best by the water and on 31 December 2011 we’re going to select our favourite four legged friend to star in our future campaigns.

As well as posting pictures of your pet, please join in and let us know what you think of the photos on this page using the comments facility. While we’re going to make the final decision we want to know what you think as well.

When you upload your photos to our Flickr group, let us know the title of your photo and the location. A panel of judges will pick the best photos from amongst your favourites at the end of the year [31.12.11] and the winning owners and their dogs will receive a 'doggy bag' of goodies.
