Is there such a thing as a “Canadian” car? What makes a car Canadian?

The Canada Science and Technology Museum is exploring these questions in a new exciting exhibition, In Search of the Canadian Car, presented by Toyota Canada. Visitors are invited to explore national identity through cars, one of the most popular, pervasive, and influential technologies of the modern age.

In Search of the Canadian Car showcases more than a dozen cars from the Museum’s collection. The cars are grouped in four themes, each representing a factor that might be said to make the cars “Canadian.”

Is a car more Canadian if it is “Designed by Canadians,” “Built by Canadians,” “Marketed to Canadians,” or “Chosen by Canadians”?
