Gail at Large + Image Legacy (a group admin) says:
09 Dec 11 - Think of stuff you'd find in a gift shop in Niagara Falls or ordinary objects found only in a Canadian store. This is not meant to be a traditional history archive, a museum, a collection of worth, ideas of what the world thinks of us, or how we think of ourselves. Think of things that originated in Canada, like ketchup chips + Coffee Crisp. If you live overseas, you start to miss small things. If you have to get a friend to bring it to you -- THAT'S Canadiana!

About Canadiana ** THE VIRTUAL SOUVENIR SHOP**

Stuff of the Canadian variety -- food brands, maple syrup, souvenirs, mascots, provincial flags, coins, bills, knick-knacks, hockey jerseys, RCMP, items of nostalgia, etc. Think of stuff you'd see hawked at the airport, not soaring landscapes. Nothing too kitschy for this pool!

If you've seen Douglas Copeland's books titled Souvenir of Canada, you'll see what I mean.

If the photo requires explanation, it probably doesn't belong to the pool.

If it's not obviously and uniquely Canadian, best to leave it out of the pool or put it up for discussion.

*** OBJECTS, please! Scenery, buildings, people, or animal shots do not jive with the theme. ***

Please send your Canadian scenery shots to groups such as Canadian Beauty. Other related groups:
