So an outing for some daylight tossing. Decided these are different enough to deserve their own set.

Set: Camera Toss (Day)
Still learning what makes a good daylight toss. Lots of "junk", would be much more wasteful if shooting film. I did get one discernable aerial and a couple abstract self portraits. Best of is now in pool. A wide-angle, fisheye or just more light would have helped.

Also the most recent addition taken during the very short breaks I had while working the stage at this music festival.

A new tosser Juani Serra also has a camera tossing set.

I love the whole sheets and strikes set, clicky. And thanks for mentioning mine on here, I just noticed it. Check out my new ones, I had my camera in the car for a 2 hour road trip at night. Probably not the safest idea, but nice results nonetheless.

Tossing while driving is definitely not recommended (both meanings), has to be more dangerous than cell phone usage while driving. hehe.

As suggested by Clickykbd, I'm postin this set of my "tosses" (actually not all are tosses, strictly speaking, but more "controlled", handling the camera. I find the pure toss too random and generally uninteresting).
Just one example here:

thanks for mentioning it. Glad that tossing is inspiring other variations, some of which are new techniques, some not. For myself, the uncomposed randomness is the HEART of camera tossing, but to each their own!

Sorry, this has probably been asked before...
If the camera is attached to my wrist by a string as i through it but does NOT interfere with the cameras toss (it would only affect the camera if it's about to hit the ground)... Is that okay or not? Actually, you wouldn't even notice if it was a night time shot really. The camera would be spun by my hands into the air only and the string would just be a backup for the bad catch.
Posted 67 months ago.

|

@Jump... yeah that's fine... it usually doesn't work well with the wrist or neck strap because they are too short to really "stay out of the way"... but longer strings have been used before as a precaution. Don't know how well it works though as I've only thrown equipment I can afford to break.
@Elder Moore... Very nice set, especially for your first efforts. Some really nice suprises in there. Thanks for sharing.
