Although this group is by invitation only, active Flickerites with quality images are welcome. *** PLEASE READ THE GROUP RULES *** Close-ups or landscapes are fine, but wildflowers or wildlife must be emphasized in the composition. No commenting requirements at this point, but please be generous in supporting other photographers' images. Please post a quick "Hello" in the "New Member Introductions" so we can all get better acquainted.
About California Desert (Wildflowers & Wildlife)This group is devoted to the wildflowers and wildlife of our California deserts. It covers a large area of California's desert landscape, from our borders with Mexico and Arizona on the south and east, to the Mojave desert and edge of the Eastern Sierra on the north and Antelope Valley on the west. Among other locations, it includes Death Valley, Anza-Borrego State Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Red Rock Canyon State Park, Jawbone Canyon, Desert Tortoise Natural Area, Corn Springs / Chuckwalla Mountains, Providence Mountains and the Mojave National Preserve (see discussion area for more.) Also included is the area at the very southern end of the Owens Valley south of Lone Pine (Olancha, Keeler, Cerro Gordo, Haiwee, Fossil Falls) because of its desert -like climate. |
