If you love the native flora of California, and want to learn more about or share your knowledge of these plants, this is the group for you!

This is a group to post images, seek identification, discuss and just basically glorify the amazing native flora of this great state.

If you need to identify a flower/plant, please post it to the active plant "ID Help LIne" discussion above before posting it to the group. That gives us a chance to see what needs to be identified without it getting lost in the pool.

Note: this is not the place to post pictures of garden plants that happen to be growing in California. Rather, this is for your photos of California native plants, wherever they happen to be growing... in the wilderness, botanical gardens, or your back 40.

Please indicate the common name, latin name, and Family in the title or description and in the TAGS if you can. That makes searching for like species much easier since one can just click on the tag to find others.

Also, please add the general location of the photo and plant. That will help in identification.

We as a group will strive toward correct identification and will offer friendly advice in the correct naming of the plants pictured herein. Please do try to keep within the group definition as described here. Pictures that don't match the guidelines will be (sorry!) removed.
