Field Trip is a project which began in 2009. The first two issues were given to the themes of analogue and and b/w photography.

Field Trip is a publication which documents photographically and otherwise, the places and situations we find ourselves in and the ephemera attached to these encounters.

By submitting images to this pool you are also submitting to Café Royal Books projects and publications. We will never print images without prior permission. We might use images on the site, purely to promote the image and the artist, credit will always be given.

Café Royal Books is a publishing house I founded in 2005. Originally set up to disseminate my work quickly and inexpensively while avoiding the gallery system, having painted large abstracts and worked directly with galleries for many years prior.

I am interested in the printed image, mainly drawing or photography based, and how it responds to or creates a narrative with another unrelated printed image, adjacently placed. I am also interested in documenting collections, ephemera and found photographs / items.

I utilise simple, disposable materials and methods to create short-run publications, which are affordable and collectible. Generally Café Royal publications are printed as an edition of 50-100 and hand numbered. There is very occasionally a second edition printed but only where the first edition was of 50 or fewer. The second edition is generally un-numbered.

Café Royal Books are available to buy world-wide and have been collected by many major international museums, galleries and individual collectors.
