06 Jul 08 - Please add your photos to the pool - anything about the bushmen or landscapes. Even if you go to a tourist set up anywhere in Southern Africa. It helps to provoke discussion about the Botswana CKGR problem.

About Supporting Bushmen of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve

This group is about highlighting the problems that the Bushmen of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve are experiencing. The Botswana government want to move the bushmen from their tribal homelands.
There has been a court case which the bushmen won (2006) but still the Botswana government want to harass the bushmen.
I lived in the Central Kalahari region as a teacher and have returned many times since. I also travelled through the CKGR in 2006 with my wife and saw the new village called New Xadi that the government had set up so I have some personal knowledge of their issues.
This is my attempt at trying to raise awareness of their plight.
Whilst the group is inspired by the bushmen of the Kalahari in Botswana - please feel free to include discussions and images of the wider issues across Southern Africa.
