18 Jul 09 - Having largely ignored the new additions to the pool over the last few months, I've been through today and removed several dozen pictures. I’m hoping to maintain a pool of quality images: please see the more detailed ‘do’s and don’ts’ below, which I consider will make for a more enjoyable pool for all.
Thank you to all who post to this group.

About Bus UK: Like the back end of a bus - see posting Guidelines
The rear view of some people is unkindly likened to the back end of a bus. This group is to show that buses can, in fact, have rather aesthetically pleasing rear views. And sometimes they don't.
In short, this is a group for pictures of the backs of buses! ... but please, no model buses.
In order to maintain a pool of good quality images, please ensure that:
•All images should be of reasonably good quality
•Pictures should be taken from behind the bus
•The rear end should generally be the main feature of the photo
•The bus should generally be unobscured by people or other traffic
Please avoid the following:
•Blurred images unless done for special effect
•Badly exposed images
•Photos where the bus makes up a tiny part of the image, unless the picture puts the bus in a wider setting
•Images where the bus is largely obscured by people, other traffic etc
•Photos where the rear end is totally incidental (eg where the main focus of the photo is a front view of another vehicle)
•Large numbers of almost identical images
Quite a number of images that have been removed/rejected would make perfectly acceptable submission, but appear to have been submitted as ‘raw’ images – ie straight from the camera without any tinkering in third party products like Photoshop, Microsoft Photo Editor, Miscrosoft Office Picture Manager, etc. Even here within Flickr there is Picnik to edit photos. More than anything else please ensure your photos are sensibly cropped – any of the programmes mentioned above can be used to very simply crop the images to get the best results.
Many thanks.
