Purpose
This place, our place, is more than an awakening. It is more than another "renaissance" or call to arms. This place represents homecoming. We, the artists of the new 21st Century present herein to the world our legacy. This is our world, our art, our times.
We, as has always been western African tradition, are a culture of inclusion. We welcome all who share our interests. But, this place, will be about - us.
What to Post Here
We have not lost our way, but we are more than we were. The previous "black renaissances" showed the world who we are. Now, we paid the cost to be individuals. There is no one black identity. That is as it should be.
1. Work that depicts African & African American life as it is, as it should be... an archive of the best and worst of us. (Work about black people)
2. The best of your work - art for art's sake. Personal statements are welcome here. (Work from black people) PLEASE POST YOUR BEST SHOTS. This is not the place to post everything you ever do.
3. Expressions of our values, our goals.
4. Our place in the world. We are no longer surrounded only by us. Work about African American people's interactions with others)
5. Positive images of Africans & African Americans. (No pimps, hoes, or nudes... they will be deleted without comment).
Rules
Be a community, do what communities do. If we're about self, we die. If we are about each other, we grow together.
