About Built Ann Arbor

The goal of this group is to document ‘built’ Ann Arbor. Subjects could include commercial and residential buildings as well as infrastructure like bridges, dams and water-towers. Part of the idea is to document change like the Eaton building becoming condos or, more radically, Ann Arbor Circuits/ Technology Center being replaced by the YMCA. This implies a cataloging aspect of the group since less noteworthy buildings like the Food and Drug Mart on Stadium Boulevard can disappear un-photographed.
Another goal is to document those hidden quirky or historic buildings tucked away in places most of us miss.

This group differs from Ann Arbor Architecture in that the images focus on single whole structures, not details and streetscapes or generalized views of multiple buildings. Lets avoid pastoral architecture unless it’s really unique.

Geographically the group is open to buildings and structures in the greater Ann Arbor/Ypsi area.
