About Plant Health Images - Insect and Disease
I work for the Bugwood Network at the University of Georgia. Some of you may be familiar with us as Insect Images, Invasive Images, or Forestry Images. Among other things, we have been working to create an image archive for non-profit groups working on educational projects. The hope is to have a reliable source for accurately identified, high-resolution images. These images are used to educate the public and serve as screening aids for plant diagnosticians.
I have noticed the membership of Flickr has a tremendous amount of talent and enthusiasm for photography. I'd like to appeal to all of you to add images to this group that you think may be useful. We are looking for images of invasive plants, insects, diseases, or other factors that may damage plants. We do ask that anyone submitting images be 99.9% sure that the image is properly identified. I will look through everything that is submitted to this group and contact you about using the image.
We are interested in images of any pest from around the world, however, a list of target species we are actively pursuing is available at the Southern Plant Diagnostic Network Pest List
