About Brown Annual Fund Photo Contest
Contest Participants
• The competition is open to all current Brown students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
• Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to submit photographs.
Important Dates
• The contest begins on Monday, April 7.
• The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 16.
• First, second, and third prize winners will be notified via email no later than July 16, 2008.
Subject
• All entries should be color landscape photographs of Brown University’s campus with no identifiable people. Eligible photographs will reflect Brown’s campus as it appears today.
• You can view samples of previous posters depicting the Carrie Tower and John Hay Library, Pembroke, and the Front Campus on the Brown Annual Fund's Flickr Group website.
Contest Guidelines
• You must sign up to be a member of Flickr in order to submit a photograph – registration is free.
• All photographs must be digitally uploaded on the Brown Annual Fund’s Flickr Group: www.flickr.com/groups/brownannualfund. You must join the Brown Annual Fund Group in order to upload a photograph. Detailed instructions for uploading photos for both Windows and Mac are available on Flickr’s website.
• All images must be 2400 x 3000 pixels.
• Each eligible photographer may submit an unlimited number of photographs. Only those photos loaded on or before Friday, May 16 will be considered.
• The BAF group is public. Your photo retains the privacy settings you set for anyone who isn't a group member.
• If you prefer that we contact you at a different email address, you can email the administrator at Annual_Fund@brown.edu to provide contact information in the event that you are selected as a contest winner. Please include the words “Poster Competition Contact Information” in the subject of your email.
• All participants must abide by Flickr’s Community Guidelines.
• Entries must be submitted by the original photographer, who will retain the copyright to his or her photograph. By entering the contest, photographers agree to donate without any fee or other form of compensation to Brown an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, edit, reproduce and distribute the submitted photograph in Brown University publications. Photos will be credited to the photographer named in the entry form.
• The group administrator reserves the right to remove images that do not meet contest criteria and/or ban group members, as necessary.
• The winners will be chosen by the selection committee.

First prize:

• At Brown’s discretion, your photograph and name could be featured on a poster distributed to approximately 30,000 supporters of the Brown Annual Fund or in other marketing materials.
First and second runners up:
• Digital photo frame
Additional Information
• During each fundraising year (July 1 – June 30) of the Campaign for Academic Enrichment, the Brown Annual Fund will send its supporters and image of campus as an expression of thanks for their generosity. Those donors who prefer not to receive these complimentary prints can simply send a message to Annual_Fund@brown.edu with "No Prints" in the subject line to be removed from the list.
