About Brighton Photography Book Volume Two
Now that the 2009 Brighton flickr book is out there it seems like time to do a secod book. So here is the group to submit your images for consideration.
First a note on "ownership" of this group. This isn't "my" group. As was true of the 2009 book several people got together to choose the images and the layout of the book. Some parts of the process are necessarily one-person tasks but the "control" of the book rests with several people not one (e.g not me). So any of these guidelines can change if the group (heretofore known as "The Editors") decide.
Submission rules are simple, Images have to have some Brighton connection the minimum being that it was taken by someone in the Brighton flickr group. The visual having some connection to Brighton and environs is a nice to have, but by no means essential.
Film and digital are both welcome or screengrabs from a video, any image that can be considered to be photographic basically.
Any kind of camera is fine from homemade pinhole to the priciest film or digital camera and you don;t need to be a professional because what the book is about it showing the breadth of talent and inspiration of the Brighton flickr group.
Images will be selected based on their impact and je ne sais quoi and if it comes to it - a majority vote of the editors. A maximum of 5 images can be submitted by any one person to the group. If you change your mind about an image you can swap it or remove it but a maximum of 5 are allowed at any one time.
This should not be profit making enterprise. If there is a conventionally published book i'd like to suggest that any profits be donated to charity. If so we can all argue at bitter length about which charity at a later date.
So please join the group and submit your images. And if you're interested in being an editor please say so in the discussion topic and I'll make you a Moderator - no questions asked.
In closing there are two things i'd like to ask for.
