About Brick and Mortar
Raised from the Mud
We hear about brick and mortar stores in the 'real world' made of those materials. This group is about buildings of baked mud and Portland cement!
I have been taking many photographs (some might say 'wasting a lot of storage') on pictures of old buildings built of -- you guessed it -- those terracotta blocks Ignatz Mouse used to toss at Krazy Kat.
Three Small Restrictions
We are not retentive rules freaks, here. Post photographs of any brick-related or mortar-laid stone/block/tile/whatever structure, be it building, path or ruin, and we're happy. We just ask you to observe ask three small restrictions:
(1) Please either omit or minimize people, animals and vehicles. If they are part of the setting, fine; but the structures should be the key elements. I have posted a photo of the Slater Mill Flea Market as an example:

(2) This group concerns the walls, not what is on them. There are lots of groups for graffiti; we can look for it there. On the other hand, if there are old advertising or street signs painted on the bricks, put 'em up here! They add character to old buildings. The Uneeda Biscuit building from Rob Bellinger provides this example:

(3) Unfortunately, we have had to institute a new restriction: No ADVERTISING! We don't want to see your promotional material in our group pool, please find somewhere else to post your SPAM.
Removals
We don't do that unless you post totally unrelated photographs or get out of line -- please keep things family-friendly.
What's that box at the top about?
We discovered this cool little 'recent news' box at the top of the discussion page. We decided to use it for promoting the site a bit, since the About the Group section is a little more tedious to edit. Now, we use it to track (or brag about) new members, the number of photos in the Pool, and our latest ranking with similar Groups.
By the way, our apologies if we missed posting your name when you joined; we only have so many characters in the news box, and it only seems to allow about the last three (average length) names.
