This group is dedicated to the era of British rail.
If your feeling dismayed at the state of the characterless railways today, then have no fear.
The 'British time machine' is your trip back in time to that much missed railway scene.

This group is more than just locos and trains, that type of railway group is well catered for on flickr already. The emphasis of this group is on the whole of the British Rail era from 1966 onwards.
All B.R locos, rolling stock, B.R road vehicles, station equipment, signage, memorobillia, station shots, people, the fashion of the 70's/80's, and the general enviroment around the railways from that period will be considered.

The specific intention is to gather the best shots that epitomized that unique atmosphere of the B.R era. There was a neglected, and run down feel to the railways in the late 1970's, and 80's.
It would be good to gather the best of those shots to portray it here.

**N.B Please no large logo, network branding, or sectors liveries.
Black and white images, steam, modern day, or preserved railway shots.
No H.S.T's or anything built after them please. The railway scene went downhill rapidly when the first generation diesels and units were scrapped**
