About Botanic Mosaic

Botanic Mosaic - View this group's most interesting photos on Flickriver

Group devoted to hand-made and third-party assisted mosaics of botanical images.

The last group I created, Flower Fields is in some ways the opposite of this pool. The expansive panoramas of flowers in nature imply the close and organized inspection here.

Guidelines for posting images to Botanic Mosaic:

Subject matter

1. The vegetative world, living or dead; preferably living.
2. Insects and birds must be accompanied by a plant.
3. Pets, humans, etc. not allowed. Ask yourself Does it grow in the earth?
4. No nudity; that's a no brainer.
5. Only photographs you've taken personally or have permission to post.

Exceptions: If one or more images in a montage are not botanical, but relate directly to the overall theme, this is allowable. (example.1, example.2)

Presentation

1. Mosaics and montages. Images of multiple photographs, illustrations or paintings. Diptychs and triptychs allowed. Hockney effect allowed. No video please.
2. Mosaics created in Photoshop or using third party applications like fd's Flickr Toys.
3. Solitary and individual photos not allowed unless the subject matter is arranged in a manner that appears mosaic-like.
4. Color imagery preferred. B & W, sepia and monochrome allowed.
5. Images highly processed, unnaturally saturated, posterized, solarized or Warholized are discouraged. Images that are naturally abstract in nature are welcome.

This group is moderated and all submissions are subject to editorial review. If you have an image that is deleted from the pool, please do not take this personally. Simply submit another image. Please leave comments for the outstanding work of your fellow photographers.

Thank you.
