WHAT IS Welcome to BNE?
Welcome to BNE is a collection of creative images taken in and about Brisbane, Australia. If you are a keen photographer we would love for you to get involved....

PROJECT BACKGROUND
This group has come about as a result of a creative brief we (Left, Right & Centre, a design company) are working on, in conjunction with AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association) and as part of the OPTIMISM: Icograda Design Week 2010

We are producing a 'guidebook' welcoming visitors to Brisbane, outlining Design Week's key events and listing some of the city's best places to eat, drink, relax and party.

With a captive audience of design and creative professionals, it is a great opportunity to create something special. Rather than illustrate the book with the usual collection of tourist and publicity shots (there are plenty of these already), we want to enlist the help of Brisbane's creative community and give them the opportunity to contribute imagery.

THE OUTCOME
First and foremost this is an online collection of interesting imagery of BNE. From this collection we will select images to feature in the printed book which will be distributed to visitors attending Design Week. Of course, should any of your images be included in the book, you will be credited and receive a copy. After that, who knows! It would be great to stage an exhibition event...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT...
There is no brief as such. We are simply looking for your emotive response to the city. Here are some keywords to get you thinking - personality, light, colour, texture, pattern, typography, architecture, culture, energy, faces, hidden delights, atmosphere, sunshine, community, warmth...the more creative and intriguing, the better!

THE PRACTICAL STUFF
- Design Week isn't far away. We will be to selecting images for the book by Friday 20 August
- Please remember to add your images to the Flickr map as image locations will form part of the book concept
- For inclusion in the book please ensure you have high resolution images uploaded or available
- By submitting your images you are allowing us to use them in the Design Week guidebook and promotional collateral
- We will not of course use your images for anything else without your express permission

THE SMALLPRINT
Welcome to BNE is not a money making exercise and Left, Right & Centre are not being paid for this project. Call it a labour of love! By getting involved you, and many others, get to see your photography featured alongside some other great work and hopefully featured in the guidebook.
