About Bengaluru Street Photography

I prowled the streets all day, feeling very strung-up and ready to pounce, determined to "trap" life - to preserve life in the act of living. Above all, I craved to seize the whole essence, in the confines of one single photograph, of some situation that was in the process of unrolling itself before my eyes. - Henri Cartier-Bresson

Street photography is the earliest and probably the purest forms of photography. A photograph on the street is merely an attempt to capture the world and time we live in. There is no staging and everything is as candid as life itself is.

This group is intended to promote and preserve this wonderful form of photography in the city of Bengaluru (or rather Bangalore). The group pool is heavily curated and have to be approved by Vivek M. The goal is to have a high quality selection of street photographs that is representative of the talent the city possesses. Members can submit a maximum of 5 photos per week.

Only photographs shot in and around Bangalore are allowed to be submitted to the pool. Members are however encouraged to initiate discussion threads around photographs shot in other locations.
