About Blob Versus Beauty

The BLOB group belongs to all men and women lovers of beauty who are horrified by the spread of urban cement on the planet, even to the most remote and wild places which are universally recognized as the most beautiful on Earth.

Before the earth becomes like Trantor, the capital planet of the galactic empire in Asimov’s Trilogy;
Before the anthropogenic cancer devours the planet and itself;
Before the last forests disappear;
Before ugliness is considered the norm:

We must take action and this group and these photos are part of that action.

Nothing is more difficult than defining what “ BEAUTY ” is. But certainly many works of art created by man throughout history testify to his mastery of technique, to his innate sense of beauty, to his knowledge of nature and his respect for mother Earth, the mother that has created and sustained him, the home where he lives and dies.

But today we find ourselves facing on a million fronts a BLOB made of cement and asphalt, metal and brick, which creates a chaos of shapes and purposes that pervades and soils everything, destroying with arrogance the natural environment and landscapes, both fruits of a very long and fascinating history, leaving us shocked and impotent.
Why ?! Honestly I don't know.

We all know how to distinguish the beautiful from the ugly, even if we don’t always agree on the meaning of those terms. But a Greek temple is a Greek temple and a monstrosity is a monstrosity!

Please help the BEAUTY by sending photos that record and denounce the manifestations of the BLOB, this ugliness that is spreading all over the planet Earth, this deadly fluid that covers and blots out everything. If some appalling structure or other insult to nature and/or to landscape is grown or is growing near you, take a picture of it and post it here!

Only by making people aware of the aesthetic degradation of environment will be possible to preserve your towns, your lands, our planet and so live better.
