About WNY Snowstorms : Blurb.Com Book Project

This group is meant to document the snowfalls and storms that hit western New York in late 2008 and 2009. At years end, we'll create a book on Blurb.Com. It will be a compilation of Flickr photographers that live in regions across western New York, anyone who is willing and loves photography enough to brave the weather and take good photos during and after each storm. This group is for everyone who wants to participate to upload their storm photos throughout the year and we'll pick and choose in December.Anyone can participate and everyone will be credited! No invitation necessary.

The only rules are that the photos added must be taken before, during and after a late 2008 or 2009 snow storm or heavy snowfall somewhere in the region. I'll keep track and post dates as they come.

Things We're Looking For
Street shots, snowy landscapes, snow covered vehicles, lakes and waterfalls, anything depicting the cold (ice, snow plows, etc), pets in the snow, people in the snow, people going about their day outdoors, WNY landmarks, downtown Buffalo shots, bridges, trains, planes, airports, storm damage, etc. Anything you think shows what life in western New York during the winter months is like.

Storm List
December 2008 - We had quite a few heavy snowfalls this month, especially those three storms right before Christmas.
January 8th 2009 - Mostly Buffalo got hit with this one.
January 13th 2009 - Most of western New York got hit with this one. It was early in the morning and plunged us into a deep freeze.
January 18th, 19th & 20th - It has been snowing seemingly non-stop for the past three days.
January 28th - 8 inches of snow/wind (on the 32nd anniversary of the start of the blizzard of '77).
