02 Feb 12 - This is possible one of the ultimate failed groups on flickr. Like most, it is swamped by people who are simply after clicks. Well, you're wasting your time, nobody visits this group. The thing is, a blandscape should be compelling, not simply bland or minimal. A blandscape can actually be pretty crowded, but its the photographers vision that makes it worth looking at. If in doubt, don't add it, as odds are I'll delete it again.

About Blandscapes - read the guide - stop posting vacant rubbish
A compelling composition created from the mundane.
Please don't simply offload images in the hope of getting lots of views and comments from here - its not that kind of pool.
This group is hard to describe - it is about images with no real subject other than the image itself.
Things that are good for blandscapes:
Everyday objects, but mundane ones, you know, function over form such as yard brushes. Anything that has been 'designed' such as fancy electronic gadgetry or lemon squeezers of the stark variety are not bland.
Things to avoid:
People, animals, cars, hi-tech, fancy skies.
I go through the submissions from time to time and ruthlessly boot out any which don't meet a standard - which includes some of my own submissions. As I say, a blandscape is very hard to define.
If you enjoy this group, then please pass the word on and invite your chums along. You can copy and paste this into your comments on suitable images:
(invitation) - Hi, I'm a member of the Blandscapes pool - a Blandscape is a compelling composition created from the mundane. I think this is a brill image and would fit right into the group.
