29 Sep 09 - Please remember to tag Your photos with the name of the bird (species) in scientific (Latin) names, or at least in English.
And also remember that all pictures should be of non-captive individuals. Thank You!

About Birds of the Western Palearctic (WP)

Birds of the Western Palearctic (WP). Get yours at bighugelabs.com/flickr

This group's aim is to present images of the Birds of Western Palearctic area (List of the countries below).

Here are a few simple rules for posting etc:

- The bird/birds in the pictures need to be identified and the name of the species should be mentioned in the tags (english name or scientific name, hopefully both), for the simple reason that it's easier to search pics of a certain species when the pics are tagged with the name.

- The birds presented need to be seen on the WP (check the country-list below). Note that this doesn't mean YOU (or even the picture) have to be from a country on the list! A list of the birds seen on WP can be found f.ex. from Netfugl

- There's no need to post only portraits: artistic etc. photos of WP-birds are also more than welcome. BUT you should be able to recognize the bird/birds from the pic. Birdwatching photos are also welcome.

- No pics of captive birds should be posted.

- Please type the place / location where the pic was taken somewhere (title/description/tags)

And... Feel free to invite other "flickrers" to join!

So, the idea is quite much the same as in flickr.com/groups/birdguide/ but the boundaries are set by the area. This group could/should/would be a guide to all viewers.
