About Beautiful Bird Bokeh

While there are other groups on Flickr that deal with bokeh, none of them are specifically for bird photographs, and since bird photographs with a good bokeh are usually of high quality, I invite folks to post those photos here.

If you're asking yourself what bokeh is, you might have heard it referred to as depth-of-field or DOF or short depth-of-field. What you're looking for is a background that is completely blurred and does not have anything to distract the viewer from the subject (the bird in our case). To achieve this effect, your subject background usually has to be clear of foilage or other "distractions".

Please don't flood the group with a bunch of pictures - add a few of your best shots and let those who are interested take a look at your photostream. The idea is to keep the pool alive with the "cream of the crop" and hopefully to cause others to post their best as well.

Photos of subjects other than birds will be removed from the pool. Likewise, photos where the subject has poor bokeh will also be removed.

Feel free to post discussions to the group on promoting good bokeh and help others to achieve this with their photos.
