Bug: K2 Beta One expects to be placed in a directory called "k2"
|
K2 Beta One expects to be installed in a directory called "k2" within the themes directory. If you don't, you get an error similar to the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function k2info() in /var/www/www.colinseymour.co.uk/htdocs/blog/wp-content/themes/k2beta1/header.php on line 33
This is caused by the following on line 11 in header.php:
if ($plugin == '../themes/k2/k2options.php') {
Work-arounds:
One of the following should work-around this problem:
1. Rename the theme directory to k2
2. Place k2options.php into your plugins directory and activate it.
3. Edit line 11 and change the "k2" to be the directory you installed K2 Beta One into.

It should auto-sense where it is installed... shouldn't be hardcoded.

Chris forgot to set it up to figure out what directory it was in. It'll be fixed asap.

Chris,
I'm not sure what SVN is. I just downloaded k2betaone and it broke my site. I've tried to rename the folder to k2, but, while that got rid of the fatal error, my site returned an empty page.
Whatis SVN, how can it help me, and what should I do?

Was there ever a resolution to this issue? I have "r60" sitting on my drive waiting to be uploaded. Perhaps the FAQ should have upgrade instructions as well for future progress.
