About Big Wheel City
The big wheel, or ferris wheel to give it it's proper name, was invented by George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. in 1893 for the World's Columbian Exposition (or the Chicago World's Fair).
Our love for the ferris wheel has continued and these days there are many cities sporting a ferris wheel within the urban landscape. The ferris wheel offers a great oppurtunity for the photographer; both as a subject and as a platform for shooting the city from a different perspective.
This group will concentrate on the ferris wheel as the subject. We would like to see big wheels from all over the world, with shots taken at night, during the day, in detail and at wide angle.
This group is invitation only.
