About bicycle & pedestrian ferry
This pool is meant to collect and share photos of ferryboats that transport only pedestrians and cyclists.
It is a great way of crossing a river or lake and a perfect opportunity to meet other travellers. Smelling water en feeling the fresh wind is often a welcome break on a tour.
Bringing up the subject of sustainable transport, it is very important that these ferries survive and keep playing their necessary role in commuting and touristic mobility. Ferrys are essential links in bicycle & walking networks. I hope we can support that.
I'm the administrator, and I love cycling and walking. I've travelled on a lot of ferries, mostly without taking pictures. So for me this is also bringing back memories.
Please no pictures of carferries. I might sometimes allow a carferry when there are only bicycles or pedestrians on it, but don't be surprised when I refuse to accept your photo.
