About Bicycle facilities
This group exists to share photographs of bicycle facilities: bicycle-friendly streets/bike boulevards, bike lanes, bike paths, bike racks or other parking, signs, markings, etc. Photographs from around the world are welcome.
My hope is that this group will give advocates tools to illustrate what we want; as we know, a good photo is worth a page of words.
I hope we'll have more good examples than bad ones, but all facilities are welcome.
In order to make these images maximally useful:
1. Please give as much information as possible about the situation and photograph (what is the traffic situation, is it urban or rural, what are the different signs and markings visible in the photo, etc.).
2. Use these images carefully. You may not understand all of the different aspects of the photo, and it won't help your case if you are unable to answer questions people ask. Look carefully at what else you may be illustrating with the photo. Also, feel free to ask the photographer for more information.
3. We welcome discussion of the facilities through notes and comments. Professionals and experts are particularly invited to help make sense of the photograph for less-experienced advocates. (e.g. if you see an aspect of an otherwise good facility that is very dangerous, or you want to point out what could be improved, etc.) Here's an example of the level of detail I am talking about; feel free to add your own thoughts.
