This is where members of Beltane Fire Society's Photopoint will be able to post their images of society events, so that society members can easily see them all, in one place.
Photopoint was the name given by the society for its newly formed group of photographers.
We have spent time practising photography techniques (often with performers from the society), and have sought information from the performance groups about the fire festival events which we photograph. Members of the group vary in skill level, from relatively new to more advanced, albeit none of the members make a full-time living from photography.
We are permitted to go beyond the boundaries normally in place to protect performers from the crowds, allowing us to move around more freely, yet we are given the responsibility to ensure that we do not obstruct the performance.
The society gave us a small budget at Beltane this year, which we spent on lens rental (including a super-tele lens). The rest of the necessary funds we provided ourselves, albeit we may make a small amount back via the sale of prints etc.
