About BF Goodrich complex, Akron Ohio

The BF Goodrich company had the world's largest rubber factory in Akron Ohio.

The complex was over 38 acres of land in downtown akron and had around 65 buildings (over 165 acres of floor space!) The factory was so big that it had it's own fire department, post office and police! Most of it was sold off in the late 1980's after bf goodrich left the tire industry...Much of the south end of the complex was redeveloped to become Canal Place and hosts many businesses, some restaurants, art gallerys, attorneys and warehouses. The North side of the complex sat empty for many years and became the playground for skaters and others until it was finally redeveloped in the mid 1990's.....Many of the buildings were knocked down...with the exception of building 41, which has become the world headquarters for AES, and also hosts many other businesses.

This group is a place to share any photos, past or present from the former BF Goodrich factory complex.
