About Best Portraits

The idea of this group is to put togeter all of the best portrait photographers from Flickr. It is dedicated to portrait photographers who have proven a high standard in their photographic, technical and graphic skills.

What this group is about?
This group is about human portraits made by a digital or film camera. The photos can be post processed but they should look like a photo not like a painting.

Who can be Best Portraits group member?
Anyone who agrees and follow the group rules can become a group member.

What kind of photos CAN NOT be published to this group?
- Snapshots.
- Journalistic photographs including fashion shows & concert photographs
- Over processed HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos. HDR is allowed when Adobe PhotoShop is used to process it, but no photos processed by Photomatix are allowed.
- Over processed photos in general. The published photograph should look like a photograph on like a hand drawing or painting. But there is no problem with a photograph that post process is not noticed. I mean if you know how to remove or add objects to a photo but we don’t notice that in such a case a photograph completely comply with the rules. It just needs to look quite natural.
- Pornographic or tasteless nude photographs.
- Photos with an intensive use of PhotoShops Shadow/Highlight feature.
- Photos that are technically poor even they have some other type of qualities.
- Photographs that were taken using a flash mounted on a camera (except ring flash with a combination with other flash units).
- “Artistic photos” are not allowed. What I noticed in the past was that a lot of people with no technical knowledge produce bad photos and then they call them artistic or strong photographs. Such photos are not allowed to be posted to this group. This is the reason why I wrote “artistic photos” in quotes.

How to post a photo that does not comply with the group rules?
A photo that doesn't comply with the group can be posted to the Best Portraits group in case it is invited by the Best Portrait group Administrator or Moderator.

Group membership termination
The Administrator(s) reserve the right to themselves to remove anyone who doesn’t respect the rules without further warning. The reason is that it takes a lot of time to maintain such a group and the group administration simply don’t have an intention to spend even more time with people who don’t obey the rules. Thank you for your understanding.
