About Best of Notts Countryside

Some people might not believe it, but Nottinghamshire is pretty, well… pretty!

Us residents of Nottinghamshire already know that there’re plenty of amazing, odd and interesting sights.

Now we (the Countryside Access team at Nottinghamshire County Council) want to capture them and share them with the world!

That’s why we’ve started the Best of Notts group.
Post your finest shots of Notts here for all to see…
yellow fields of oil seed rape
hidden mossy valleys
sandstone outcrops
riverside wildlife
cows giving you that look, the evil eye…

Please give the location, or geotag your photo if you can remember where it was taken.

We want to build up a huge collection of Notts shots that show off our photogenic side. And ones that show people out there enjoying it on their bike, walking, on horseback, horse and carriage – you name it!

As part of our job we promote access to the Nottinghamshire countryside, so we’ll be looking here for inspiration. We might like to use pictures from the Best of Notts in our promotions. We'll always ask for permission before we use a picture (and sending one to the group doesn't mean you have to give it to us), and we have a small pot of money which we can dip into to say 'thanks' to folks who’s photos we use.

If your photo contains any people please make sure you have their permission to make it public via the group. Any images uploaded to the Best of Notts group that contain people will be assumed to have their permission, and the onus for this resides with the photographer.

Any questions email us countrysideaccess@nottscc.gov.uk

Hope you enjoy the show,
Gill, Countryside Access team, Nottinghamshire County Council
