About Best of Star Trails

This group is for collecting the best star trails. "Best" by my definition means that the photo:

1) Contains star trails - not static images of a starry sky, not meteors, not airplane streaks (airplanes, satellites, and other man-made moving lights MAY appear in the image but they should not be the focal point of the image).

2) Include some interesting foreground and/or an interesting treatment of the stars.

3) Are "naturally" colored - as naturally as can be expected based on the vagaries of light pollution, the fact that the human eye really can't see much color at night.

5) Star trails MUST be a minimum of 10 minutes of exposure whether a single exposure or a stack.

6) The submitter must supply the following information:
a) Number of shots, b) exposure time for each shot (average is fine), c) f-stop, d) ISO, e) focal length.

7) Film shots are welcome, too! But please supply the exposure information.

This pool is moderated - rejected submissions will not appear and rejection may be without comment. Acceptance is based on adherence to the rules and the judgment of the reviewer(s).
