About Beroun
In this group you will find and may post photo's of Beroun. A city in the central bohemian region of the Czech Republic, just 30 KM from Prague. Beroun lies on the D5 motorway that connects Prague with Pilsen and was surrounded by a citywall with two gates: The Prague gate and the Pilsener gate. The river Berounka flow throug the city, just on the edge of the citycentre.
It has a rich history that dates back to the early13th century. Today the city of Beroun has a population of approximately 18.500 citizens.
Every second weekend in September the famous Pottery fair (Hrncirske trhy) wil take place in Beroun. Drawing to the long historical tradition of pottery making in Beroun. During the years from 1997 the annual Pottery Fair has become the most visited event of the town with over twenty thousand visitors.
