About Flora and Fauna of Bermuda

This group is for wildlife enthusiasts to share their photographs of Bermuda’s flora and fauna. The goal is to consolidate a comprehensive photographic database of Bermuda’s biodiversity.

I encourage you to label photos with at least location and date. Ideally photographs should be labeled with the following information:

Example:
Chilocorus cacti (twice stabbed ladybeetle)
BDA: 32°20'N x 64°40'W elev. 4m
Castle Island, St. George’s
25 May 2008

ex Sabal bermudiana (petiole)
Notes: Feeding on scale insect: Comstockiella sabalis

Scientific name (common name)
BDA: Latitude x Longitude elevation (in meters)
Location, Parish
Date (day/month/year) use 3-letter abbreviation for month to avoid confusion with British & American systems
Photographer’s name
If found on a species of plant/animal then provide scientific name
Relevant notes regarding behavior etc.

If labeling seems like a lot of work, don’t worry about it... I welcome all photographs label or no label. I will do my best to provide an ID and I welcome anyone who thinks they may know an ID to post a comment with their suggestion.

Unfortunately, Flickr does not provide a function (yet) to arrange ‘group’ photos in ‘sets’ or ‘collections’ like you can on personal pages. This means that photos cannot be organized by type yet.

If you have any photographs you would like to share, please dump them into the ‘Pool’.

RULES:
1. Only photos you have taken yourself please.
2. Only photographs taken in Bermuda. This is an attempt to avoid misidentification issues relating to subspecies etc. It also allows this site to function as a photographic survey.
