About Belleview Biltmore Hotel - Belleair, Florida

Please post photos of the historic Belleview Biltmore Hotel in Belleair, Florida. Built in 1897 by the railroad tycoon Henry Plant, the Belleview Biltmore is the largest inhabited wooden structure in the world.

Although it was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1979, by 2005, the Biltmore was one of the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. Fortunately, the hotel was saved from demolition by Legg Mason Real Estate Investors in June 2007. They have extensive long-term preservation and renovation plans.
