About beyond the pink.

Welcome.
This community serves as a retreat for anyone diagnosed with cancer, or their loved ones. While the group name refers to it, this group is not limited to breast cancer. There is an open invitation to unveil discussions surrounding medical, physical, emotional and social challenges that arise from a cancer diagnoses. This arena is a living journal of shared experiences, support and knowledge. It's a place to express life out loud by sharing thoughts and lives through photographs and words.

Eventually we re-enter the world with force and a deep understanding of what it means to be challenged physically, spiritually and philosophically by a diagnoses with both mythological and real powers. Some of the gnawing power behind cancer is socially fueled as we are corralled and veiled under various colors of "awareness", socially accepted appearances and "cause" marketing crusades. Without defiance we potentially lose hold on our individuality and possibly our dignity. BEYOND THE PINK is a place to find comfort and share any and all survival tactics.

Photos can be of anything relating to LIFE as we unveil it. Comic relief is greatly appreciated. Please do not post images with "cancer colors/merchandise" only- including PINK ribbons (if the photo contains a pink ribbon it MUST also have a person or story related to it.)
