About Become A Pilot Family Day at the National Air and Space Museum

The Become A Pilot Family Day and Aviation Display is a free annual event held at the Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA near Washington Dulles International Airport. Over 17,500 people attended the 2008 event that featured over 50 vintage, recreational, military, and home-built aircraft in an outdoor display and a variety of family activities. Visitors explored aircraft large and small, talked with pilots, tried out flight simulators, and listened to first-hand accounts of flight from U.S. Air Force “Living Legends.” If you were there and have photos from the event, please add them to this group!

Join us for the 2009 event on June 20 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm!
