Eclecticism in music
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclecticism_in_music

Eclecticism is used to describe the combination in a single work of elements from different historical styles.

Eclecticism plays an important role in critical discussions and evaluations but is somehow distant from the actual forms of the artefacts to which it is applied, and its meaning is thus rather indistinct. The simplest definition of eclecticism is that every work of art represents the combination of a variety of influences — is so basic as to be of little use. In this point of view every piece of music can be considered eclectic, because little music is based on its own. Eclecticism in music can consist of a combination of musical styles/genres, poetry and/or philosophy.

Giant 45 with:
Norman Jay
Norman mixes up the cream of 70s disco with the latest club anthems on BBC London. Norman established himself through the London pirate radio station Kiss 100, which he co-managed alongside Gordon Mac and George Power. Kiss 100 was launched in 1990 and Norman's show became legendary, and he soon joined Gilles Peterson at his label Talkin' Loud.

Worldwide with:
Gilles Peterson
Gilles Peterson brings you the best in soul, jazz, hip hop and funk on Radio 1. Peterson is known for his eclectic musical selections. He has recently started a new record label called Brownswood - named after the house he had to move out of after his record collection became too big, and which now acts as a warehouse for his enormous collection of vinyl. One of Gilles Peterson's best remembered club sessions was Talkin' Loud Sayin' Something at the old Dingwall's club in Camden, North west London which ran from the late 1980s until March 1991.
