About Beanz n Rice
In July 2006, over a few beers an idea was born for an amateur documentary series.
Initially what was planned as nothing more than a couple of mates spending a year traveling and volunteering around South America, a passing comment inspired us to document our experience on film.
After countless encounters with people all echoing the same frustration of not being able to find genuine volunteer organizations, we thought that by doing this we might provide a resource for anyone else interested in traveling and genuinely volunteering throughout South America.
Beanznrice consists of 2 ordinary Australian blokes, Brad Rickard and John Deer.
Neither of the guys have any previous media production experience however that’s what makes this project special.
What the two of them lack in experience they more than make up for in enthusiasm.
Brad and John want people to know that a project like this is impossible to achieve without the help of others.

Beanznrice literally is two mates traveling around south America for 13 months with a video camera, its that simple. Aside from the obvious reasons of having a bloody good time here are the objectives that are fuelling us.
Objective:
Beanz N Rice aim to raise awareness regarding current environmental, ecological, and humanitarian issues in the world today.
To improve profiles and provide exposure for reputable volunteer organizations, NGO’s and charities.
Beanz N Rice reaches the objective by:
Assisting volunteer organizations with their current projects at a ‘grass roots’ level.
Providing a well informed and up to date travel documentary combining volunteer work with budget traveling.
Inspiring others to think universally and to get involved with both community and global based projects by showing an exciting account of the experiences offered.
Increasing ones self awareness of how other communities/people interact with one another and their environment.
