About BC Transit

Welcome, transit fans! We are a group dedicated to all forms of mass transportation in British Columbia (other than Translink (SCBCTA), taxicabs and car carrying ferries) ranging from the massive BC Transit, that runs or contracts public transit in most major centres around the province, to small passenger ferry operations, such as on False Creek in Vancouver and in Victoria's Inner Harbour, and everything between. Mass tranportation undoubtedly doesn't stop at public transit and private ferries, and as such this group also includes a focus on private transit operators that help fill in the gaps with interurban connections and other services that act like public transit where there is a need or a demand for it.

These are dynamic times for mass transportation in British Columbia. With the growth of public transit systems through offering new routes, more frequency, the introduction of Sunday service in many places where public transit was only offered 6 days a week previously, the introduction of entire new service areas such as Salt Spring Island, and new commuter options such as service on the Malahat to the Cowichan Valley from Victoria aboard BC Transit's first fleet of 'highway' style coaches and Bus Rapid Transit being introduced, the prospect of using and appreciating transit is looking brighter every day in this, "The Best Place on Earth", Super, Natural British Columbia. This group will help showcase the growing range of mass transit services being offered in British Columbia for the world to behold

Thank you for participating and broadening flickr's growing range of transit related groups. Any suggestions about how to improve the group are warmly welcomed.
