About Bay Area Book Artists
The photos in this group are posted by members of the local group also called Bay Area Book Artists.
Bay Area Book Artists members are practicing book artists who draw on a wide range of
individual interests including traditional bookbinding, printmaking, painting, calligraphy, fiber arts, photography, sculpture, and conceptual art in developing their book works. Members come from bay area regions including San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay, the East Bay, and the Peninsula.
BABA meets twice monthly. On the first Sunday of each month we meet various places for mini-workshops or demonstrations run by members. On the third Thursday of each month we meet at Greendell School in Palo Alto to plan events, exchange information and share books in-progress.
Since 1995, BABA has presented exhibitions at local galleries and museums. In 2002 BABA members organized the first Book Arts Jam at Foothill College. This event has entertained and educated the public each year since.
BABA welcomes new members. Visit BABA's website for information about joining our community. To attend a meeting as a guest, send an email to info at bayareabookartists.com. Once you are a BABA member, you can request to join this Flickr photo pool. Please put a message in your request saying you are a member of the local group, Bay Area Book Artists.
